Maple Syrup farming, when you hear those three words, you immediately think, metal buckets and sprouts hanging from trees.
The reality of it, this process is just not practical or efficient. A much more accurate representation of maple syrup harvesting consists of a vast network of plastic tubes, spanning from tree to tree, collecting at a central location.
Checking this network of tubing requires someone to walk and visually inspect each line for leaks, damage and or flow.
Surely there is a more cost effective and time efficient process.
This would be the defining moment in time, around 2011, when a group of IoT enthusiasts identified a gap in available wireless technologies.
Smartrek Technologies was born, and our SpiderMesh LPWAN technology started to take form.
